In the heart of Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo—a city once shadowed by conflict and neglect—light has returned. This month, Great Heart Global launched Phase I of a transformational pilot scalable and repeatable project that brought clean electricity, medical care, and hope to thousands.
With the installation of a 24/7 solar-powered microgrid, hospitals that once functioned in darkness can now perform evening surgeries and store life-saving medicine. Over 100 children with sickle cell anemia received treatment through our newly supported mobile health clinics. Families gathered as solar lights lit their community spaces for the first time—smiles, songs, and tears filled the air.
“My daughter used to cry through the night from pain,” said Mama Yvette, a mother of three. “Now she has medicine, a fan to cool her at night, and clean water to drink. God has visited Kisangani.”
Phase I success is only the beginning. GHG’s four-pillar model guides our every step:
🔋 Clean Energy Access – Solar home kits, community-scale solar and BESS, scalable microgrids, and local distribution networks.
💧 Water Solutions – Solar pumps, boreholes, filtration, and water stations
🏨 Healthcare – Clinics, medical equipment, hospital support, child nutrition
🎓 Education – School electrification, teacher support, scholarships
“For the first time in decades, we have light not just in our homes, but in our hearts,” said Pastor Innocent, local community leader.
10 more communities in Congo and beyond are waiting. Help us turn on the lights, open clinics, and power classrooms. Partner Now and bring dignity to forgotten places.
